Year 10 is the ideal time for students to enrich their science study and improve their performance as they begin looking towards the HSC. Our Year 9 and 10 science programme covers all areas of the Stage 5 (Year 9 and 10 science) syllabus, including study of physics, chemistry and biology. Our expert tutors also guide students beyond the foundational level of understanding and into a deeper investigation of scientific concepts that affect their world and lives. We do this by supplementing interactive teaching and student practice with practical demonstrations and critical thinking exercises. This prepares students to be scientifically-informed citizens, and gives them a headstart for future HSC science study.
Talent 100 helps ambitious students aiming to excel academically, with high-achieving tutors and a focus on Opportunity Class, Selective Schools, and top ATARs in the HSC.
Dymocks Tutoring helps students master their schoolwork, providing the support and confidence they need to stay on top or catch up in any subject.

Your child doesn't need a teacher. They need a tutor who can help them break down the subject and identify areas of improvement.

We understand how to study smarter, not harder. That's why we condense our notes to give students only what they need to get ahead.

Unlike competitors, we limit classes to 12 so students get the attention they need in an interactive and engaging environment.

Each student gets guaranteed personal attention in dedicated practice time.

Our classrooms are designed to get the job done. Equipped with fast wi-fi and digital boards, they provide everything for students to study smart and get ahead.

Many of our subjects have additional video support to help students understand concepts in their own time.

Using the Dymocks App you're able to keep track of weekly scores as well as tutor feedback. Few other businesses provide the level of feedback we do.

Each subject has at least one and many have more than one topic test. Written in actual exam style we ensure students are prepared for success at school.

Our NEW state-of-the art Max system helps students learn by providing quizzes and, over time, personalised mastery paths to get to success easier.

As a member of our broader community, get access to academic advice and invitations to events and seminars to ensure you're always in the know.

Students are able to access their resources until the end of the academic year. Perfect for that end of year practice!

Our Year 10 science program combines core Stage 5 (Year 9 & 10) science content with accelerated content from corresponding HSC science subjects. By the end of the year with us, students will have mastered a range of skills including hypothesis testing, predictions, problem solving, conducting investigations, analysing data, in addition to having covered content from the core Stage 5 syllabus areas of the Chemical World, the Physical World, the Living World and Earth & Space. They will also have been introduced to advanced concepts and skills that both deepen their scientific understanding and aptitude, and prepare them to excel in HSC science subjects.
Students can commence their studies once they’ve successfully enrolled in the subject. They will review content from the previous week’s lessons to ensure they understand core concepts and recap their key learnings to demonstrate their knowledge and retention.
There are four terms in science for year 10, including:
Term 1 — The Physical World: Students study the particle and wave models, along with the physics of motion. Through this, they gain an understanding of theories and phenomena at the heart of the physical world. They also develop foundational skills of physics study including explaining physical phenomena, applying quantitative methods to solve real-world problems and conducting scientific experiments.
Term 2 — The Living World: Students study core concepts of biology, including disease, reproduction, genetics and cell division. Through this study, they develop a core understanding of biological concepts and theories that will deepen their understanding of the natural world and prepare them for future study in biology.
Term 3 — Earth and Space: Students study astronomical models of the solar system and universe, along with the geological structure and forces that shape the Earth. Through this, students deepen their understanding of the natural world and prepare for future study across a range of scientific disciplines.
Term 4 — The Chemical World: Students study fundamental concepts of chemistry including different structures of matter and the forces that hold matter together or break it apart.Through this study, they develop a strong understanding of the chemical world in way that equips them to analyse chemical systems in a range of practical contexts as well as in their future studies.

Mass spectrometry is an analytical technique used to identify substances by measuring the mass-to-charge ratio of ions. In senior science, it is often used to help identify unknown compounds.
Photosynthesis is the process plants use to make food using sunlight, water and carbon dioxide. This process produces glucose for energy and releases oxygen as a by-product.
Year 10 Science tutoring helps students build stronger science knowledge, improve confidence with school assessments and prepare for Year 11 science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
