The market has changed. For many students, AI now provides capable explanations at very low cost, and the real barrier is knowing how to use it well rather than being able to get help at all. That is a different problem from the one we set out to solve and we believe that families – especially in an environment where household budgets are squeezed by cost of living pressures – are best advised to invest modestly in AI solutions like Gemini or ChatGPT.

Sunday 27 September 2026 is our last day of trade. It is the last day of Term 3.

Yes. Every class runs to the end of term with the same tutors and the same support. Nothing changes.

They are three-quarters of the way through the school year, not through their course with us. Our academic year runs to the end of Term 3, and students normally begin the next grade with us in Term 4. Year 11 and Year 12 have finished school. Ending here means no student stops partway through a course, and gives all students the flexibility to find a new provider without having to pick up half-way through instruction.

You have three weeks of Term 3 remaining, plus the two-week school holiday. That is five weeks before Term 4 begins, and most tutoring providers can enrol a student within a few days. We chose the timing so that families have a clear run at finding an alternative and no student’s term is disrupted.

Approximately 38 students receive one-to-one online tuition from us. We undertook to see those students through to the HSC and their tutors will continue with them after we close, by arrangement directly with each family. Those families have been contacted separately. If you think you should be in that group and have not heard from us, contact us. In addition, we have agreed that tutors can continue to serve their students after closure as independent operators, and that is a matter for students and their tutor.

No. No further payments will be debited, and Term 4 auto-enrolment has been switched off. The exception is 1:1 tutoring students who will be charged up to the date of their last lesson in Term 3.

Term 3 is being delivered in full, so there is nothing undelivered to refund. If you think there is an error on your account, contact us and we will look at it.

Yes. Access it through the parent portal before the closure date. Bear in mind that feedback in Term 3 changed to detailed benchmark reporting sent by email within 72 hours of the end of Week 5 and Week 10.

Your information is not transferred to any other business, including any other part of the Dymocks Group. Australian privacy law and our own privacy policy do not permit it. From October 2026 we begin de-identifying customer records, and by the end of 2027 no customer data remains in our systems. Accounting records are retained as the law requires. If you are thinking about continuing tutoring from Term 4, we have negotiated discounted terms with the providers below. Each of these providers is an established operator with a well-regarded curriculum and has been teaching students for more than 15 years each. Each of these businesses are independently owned and have no ownership connection to Dymocks Tutoring, so we cannot vouch for their program — but the terms we negotiated are better than their standard rates, and they are available to you if you want them. They will also be offering employment to many of our tutors so there’s a likelihood that your child could be tutored by familiar tutors. We will circulate a separate communication with details of the offer and how to consent to us transferring records.

No. Dymocks Books, the bookshops and the Dymocks Booklover rewards programme are unaffected and continue as normal. Dymocks Tutoring and Talent 100 was a separate business.
