Grade 11

Maths Standard

Our Year 11 Maths Standard course will help expand your mathematical ability by giving you the ability to understand, interpret and apply mathematical concepts to hypothetical and real-life situations. The key focus of the course is using appropriate algebraic and graphical techniques to solve problems as well as utilising mathematical models to make predictions about everyday situations.

Maths Advanced

Year 11 Maths Advanced tutoring focuses on enhancing your ability to work mathematically, through improving understanding and application of theoretical concepts and mathematical models. At Dymocks Tutoring we will help develop your abilities to utilise efficient strategies and to apply complex techniques to solve problems, preparing you for success through your HSC.

Maths Extension 1

High performance in Mathematics Extension 1 in Year 11 is essential in order to undertake Extension 2, four-unit Maths in Year 12. The course will help you to build comprehension of key concepts and skills, in order to apply their understanding to solving complex problems in relation to functions, trigonometry, proof, vectors, calculus and statistical analysis. Develop effective and efficient strategies in relation to pattern recognition, generalisation, proof and modelling techniques in order to prepare for HSC success in Year 12.

English Standard

Dymocks Tutoring Year 11 English Standard, provides practice in comprehension and communication skills to that allows you to engage with and respond to a wide variety of texts and text types that you will utilise throughout your HSC. We’ll build English skills including critical, creative and analytical skills, putting you on the path for HSC Success across a variety NSW curriculum texts. With plenty of writing practice in all question types including, short answer, long answer, creative writing, poetry and essays you’re set up well for your preliminary exams.

English Advanced

Our Year 11 English Advanced Course focuses on lifting your literary and analytical skills to the level required for high performance in the HSC. We focus on developing literary expression, language utilisation and language techniques including purpose, audience and context. Learn critical and creative skills and respond to a variety of texts and text types.

Chemistry

Dymocks Tutoring’s Year 11 Chemistry course develops the essential skills to understand and apply core chemistry ideas and functions. The course explores the structure, composition and reactions of and between all existing elements, compounds and mixtures.

Biology

Dymocks Tutoring’s Year 11 Biology Course introduces you to the core biological concepts developing your comprehension of Biology at both the molecular level, as well as biological systems. You will gain expertise and experience in utilising the scientific process and develop your ability to apply skills to solve problems and form evidence-based conclusions. There is a strong focus on understanding the structure and function of organisms, earth’s biodiversity and the effect of evolution.

Physics

Our Year 11 Physics course deals with the study of phenomena along the dimensions of space and time, enabling us to understand how the physical world works. The course helps you to develop your scientific skills by exploring physics models and analysing physics theories and laws. In Year 11, you’ll focus on and develop an understanding of fundamental mechanics and energy.

Business Studies

Our Year 11 Business Studies course covers the nature and role of business, business management, and how to plan and establish a small to medium enterprise. Dymocks Tutoring’s teachers have extensive teaching experience and have written HSC Business Studies text books, giving you the best opportunity to achieve high performance in Business Studies and set you up for success in your HSC exams.

Legal Studies

Dymocks Year 11 Legal Studies tutoring will make sure you are on track to HSC success by developing your analytical, communication and persuasive skills. In the Year 11 Legal Studies course, students cover the legal system, the individual and the law and how the law operates in practice. To ensure you are best placed for HSC success, at Dymocks Tutoring we have experienced teachers who have written Preliminary and HSC Legal Studies textbooks.

Economics

Dymocks Tutoring’s Year 11 Economics course develops analytical, problem-solving and communication skills through the knowledge and understanding of contemporary Australian economic conditions. In Year 11, You’ll cover a general introduction to economics, the role of markets including the labour and financial markets, and the role of government in the economy.

Grade 12

Maths Standard

Dymocks Year 12 Maths Standard tutoring will help you work through and apply mathematical knowledge and capabilities to the highest extent possible throughout your HSC year, giving them the chance to get into University or join the workforce. Communicate mathematical ideas and concepts to solve maths problems that you will encounter during your HSC year. Maths Advanced

The main modules covered in 12 Maths Advanced are the application of calculus to provide solutions for complex problems and equations. How to integrate calculus with algebraic, deductive and modelling skills to solve mathematical problems that they will encounter during the HSC. Logical reasoning and mathematical communication skills will be built at Dymocks, to ensure you achieve HSC success in Maths Advanced.

Maths Extension 1

Dymocks Tutoring’s Year 12 Maths Extension 1 Tutoring can help you learn to prove results and to utilise deductive reasoning to establish proofs and utilise critical thinking and mathematical communication skills to solve problems through mathematical techniques and models. Develop a thorough understanding of and competence in higher-order mathematical functions, which will prepare you for success in the HSC.

Grade 7

Dymock’s Year 7 English Tutoring enables students to develop their persuasive and analytical language skills. Our course provides students with the ability to analyse a range of texts, and communicate effectively depending on intended purposes, audience and context of literary work.

Maths

Our Year 7 Maths course takes your child from the foundation of primary school mathematics to the higher-level concepts that will be part of their high school learning. They will be introduced to mathematical terminology and algebraic notation, and use diagrams, texts and tables to communicate mathematical ideas and link concepts and processes.

Grade 8

English

Our Year 8 English course will make sure your child develops a comprehensive understanding and application of literary, analytical and communication skills. Dymocks Tutoring will build your child’s ability to utilise language to communicate with the intended purpose, audience and context made clear.

Maths

In our Dymocks Tutoring Year 8 Maths course you will use your knowledge of mathematical terminology, algebraic notation, diagrams, text and tables to analyse and solve problems based on real-world application. Grade 9

English

Dymocks Tutoring will extend your core literary and analytical skills in Year 9 English. Build upon analytical skills and techniques to engage and respond to a wide variety of text types. You will continue to learn and develop your writing abilities, progressing your capability to utilise language depending on context, audience and purpose.

Maths

The Year 9 Dymocks Tutoring Maths course prepares students for further study of mathematics at an advanced level. Your child will be introduced to deductive reasoning in problem solving and presenting arguments and formal proofs. They will also be guided to interpret and apply formal definitions and generalisations, as well as to connect ideas across different strands of mathematics.

English

Maths

Dymocks tutoring builds on 3 years of high school Maths study to deliver knowledge, confidence and marks in this pivotal year. Our Year 10 Maths course will develop skills and abilities to deliver great marks and prepare you for HSC Maths. Learn the theory that underpins Year 10 maths, and how to apply that knowledge to the problems you will face in exams.

PRIMARY

Grade 3

English

Year 3 English is a foundational requirement for success in the subject throughout your child’s education. By the end of Grade 3 children should be learning to use simple and complex sentences, paragraphing, punctuation and grammatical features characteristic of the various texts to support meaning.

Maths

Our Year 3 Maths students will learn to ask questions and use efficient mental and written strategies with increasing fluency to solve problems. They will learn to investigate mathematical concepts and check their solutions. Our course covers multiplication, division, fractions, measurement and money.

Grade 4

English

Year 4 English is a foundational requirement for success in the subject throughout your child’s education. By the end of Grade 4 children should be learning to communicate and write expressively to use language imaginatively and with the ability to read and write independently.

Maths

Year 4 Maths is the second year of stage two. By the end of year 4, students should be confidently using multiplication and division, fractions and money, as well as having an have an understanding of measurement including depth, weight and capacity, units of time. Students should understand basic graphing techniques.

Grade 5

English

Year 5 English is setting your child up for success in high school. With a core focus on creative writing, including Poetry, Critical Thinking and text analysis, as well as key writing foundations to build literacy skills, including initial essay writing and starting longer-form content.

Maths

Year 5 Maths is setting your child up for success in high school. With a core focus on building numeric skills that will be required in high school, including Statistics and probability, measurement and geometry as well as key building blocks like fractions and decimals and basic algebraic concepts.

Grade 6

English

Year 6 English is setting your child up for success in high school. With a core focus on vocaulary, Critical Thinking and text analysis, as well as key writing foundations to build literacy skills, including essay writing skills and cohesive links.

Maths

Success in Year 6 Maths will set your child up for success in high school. With a core focus on calculations, fractions, geometric and numerical patterns, volume and measurement, your child will have the ability to apply problem-solving techniques to a range of mathematical questions.
